Living from the answered prayer

Not asking from absence, but giving thanks from inside the life already felt.

There is a way of praying that keeps the desired life far away. We ask and ask while the body continues to rehearse its absence. Every word says hope, but the feeling underneath says: it is not here.

What happens when prayer becomes participation? When gratitude is not postponed until the evidence arrives, but becomes the inner place from which we meet today?

I stand on the porch in my imagination. The Atlantic is before me. The orchard is in its second year. I do not strain to force the picture into being. I allow my body to know the peace, stewardship, and belonging of it now.

This is not pretending that practical steps do not matter. It is choosing not to let absence be the only reality from which those steps are taken.

The answered prayer begins as an inner atmosphere: gratitude before proof, trust before certainty, and a willingness to live today in relationship with what is possible.
